20 Day Blog Challenge: Day 10: Meet my Guest: Victoria Grant

I'm excited to welcome Victoria Grant to my blog today.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
So far, I have two novels published, Stranded in Love and Write to Love. Both in the same series. I have all six written, and they will be released within the next two years.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Write to Love, it's Book Two in the Calderone Family Romance Series.

Why did you choose to write in your particular field or genre?
I love all things romance. I especially love writing about people falling in love, but, of course, I have to make their lives completely miserable before they get their happy-ever-after. :)

How do you select the names of your characters?
I love to watch the credits at the end of a movie or TV show. I usually find a few interesting names and I write them down for future use.

How do you like to collect and organise your ideas?
I'm a list person. I always have been. I find lists help to keep me organized with plot lines, character traits, timelines, and with the many promotions an author must do to advertise their books.

How long did it take you to write this book?
This novel took about four months to write and two years to edit ! :)

What's next for you as a writer?
Book Three in the Calderone Family Romance Series is next, it's called Designing Love. There are 6 books in total in this family series.

Write to Love
Casey Dunlop kills people for a living and likes it. She’s a newly published murder mystery novelist all set to make her dream come true: become a bestselling author. Even if she has to come out from behind her desk and meet real people at her first book signing event. Noel Calderone, a handsome playboy and the youngest son in one of Toronto’s most powerful and wealthiest families, has read Casey’s book and is determined she will be his next conquest despite their awkward first meeting. Can Casey put her best foot forward to impress Noel’s family? And will Noel's desire for Casey create more than a little friction in his family, especially with his mother, who is harbouring an old secret that could end their relationship before it starts…

Author Bio *
Born in England to a Lawrence Welk-loving mum and a Monty Python-loving dad - tea drinkers all - we moved to Canada when I was seven. "Say book, say look" my new classmates would hound me just so they could have a good chuckle at my accent. But being incredibly shy, this was a great way for me to make friends. My love of words and a creative imagination prompted English teachers to urge me to write for a living, especially after I received a letter from the Prime Minister who thanked me for writing to him! That was pretty awesome for a twelve-year-old! Through the years, I wrote all types of stories while I earned a living as an Administrative Assistant in various businesses including a bank, a car rental firm, an ice cream company, and a pharmaceutical manufacturer. I was more than a little peeved when I discovered none of them gave out free samples! I went on to own a Wedding Coordination business for six years (talk about romance!), all the while being happily married to the love of my life. These interesting jobs plus wedded bliss gave me oodles of ideas for romantic plot lines, tall, dark and handsome heroes and feisty, beautiful heroines, and, of course, the happily ever afters. So amidst endless cups of strong tea while Cole Porter tunes and the dead parrot sketch whirl around in my brain, I write romances with a dollop of humour. I have an irresistible need to create captivating characters whose lives I can make completely miserable before giving them their happy ending. I currently live in Mississauga and spend time with family and friends, and struggle daily with the wine and chocolate that somehow magically appear in my house...
